EasyEffort Chin up & Dip Bars

Frequently Asked Questions (F.A.Q.)

Why Chin-ups?

There is no better upper body builder than chinups. This is because it works the largest upper body muscle, the back, with it's compound movement. A compound movement is a preferred exercise for muscle building. This is due to the fact that compound exercises like the chin or dip use multiple joints and auxiliary muscles to complete. Maximum stimulation of many muscles occurs in the shortest period of time. On the other hand, isolation exercises (single joint) or weight machines are easier to do but can never match the growth potential of compound exercises like the chinup or dip. If maximum muscle growth in the least amount of time is your goal, utilize chinups and dips in your upper body routine.

Why Dips?

Like chinups, dips are an excellent compound movement for your upper body. The main muscle worked is the chest, with triceps and shoulder involvement. The chest is the 2nd largest upper body muscle group. The triceps on the other hand represent over 3/5th of your arm size. If huge arms and a deep chest are your upper body goals, do both tricep and chest dips. Do them with and without added weight.

How does the cantilever of the Universal Door Mount bar (UD6 & UD5) hold me up?

In simple terms, your levered weight on the Universal Door Mount chin up bar is greater than your actual weight. This levered weight is transferred to a "holding force" against your doorstop and doorframe casing, holding you secure.

Will the Universal Door Mount bar damage my woodwork?

No! We have designed a 6 1/2" long padded fulcrum that rests against your wood trim. This foam is nearly half an inch thick.

Is every doorway strong enough for a larger person?

Standard construction methods have 2 laminated 2"X 4" that the 41/2" doorjam is nailed to. This means you have just under 4 square inches of wood on both sides of your door. This is more than adequate, even for the largest man. (That is, the largest man that can do 1 chinup---tested at 340lbs)

Do I need to put any screws or nails into my doorframe for the UD6?

No. As stated earlier, the cantilever action holds you securely in place.

What is the weight rating of the UD6?

The UD6 has been tested for up to 340 lbs.

Once I have my bar set up how long does it take to put into place?

About 3 seconds.

Can I buy this bar in stores?

No. We completely manufacture the Easy Chin Bar in our facilities and ship directly to our customers. With no middle man, we can sell the bars at a lower cost.
